After working with Matt intensively on both sections I got up to an 800 on Math and a 690 Verbal. I know I should be happy that I’m finally done with the SAT, but honestly, I’m definitely going to miss working with Matt. He has been the best tutor I’ve ever had in my entire life. So incredibly thankful that we were pointed in the direction of Stonehall Tutors. We had previously paid a substantial fee for my daughter to participate in a self-study SAT program at one of the big name companies, but every session was a chore and she was never engaged in a way that made the material stick. Everything changed when she met Matt. He came up with an attack plan from the outset, assigned manageable tasks, and she genuinely enjoyed every session with him. Matt focused on the areas where she struggled, instead of wasting time on material that she already knew. Her score increased substantially on her second exam, and we are awaiting results from the third. Whatever happens, this was money very well spent. Each session had clear, comprehensible lessons and Matt always approached teaching with an energetic and witty demeanor that somehow made SAT tutoring a highlight in my day. Matt is very detailed and sets up a plan of action to help with your improvement of SAT scores. He came highly recommended from our college counselor. We were hoping to improve on the SAT scores and feel very confident going into the next test! We saw improvements from their weekly calls on each topic. Matt would provide details of each weeks call and always had praise for the wins of the week and still were able to give you some areas for improvement. I did around 5 months of Matt’s course (usually 3 or 4 times a month) and loved every second of it. Matt’s consistently positive attitude made the experience much more enjoyable than what I thought the process would be like when I was trying to improve my test scores. Also, I knew that every time I went, I would improve more and more. Matt knows pretty much knew exactly how to help me and showed that he had a ton of valuable experience with tutoring people for the standardized scores. I ended up doing the SAT, and my score went up about 400 points. I don’t regret taking the course one bit.

About Us

Stone Hall Tutors was founded by Matt Plonsker, who earned his B.A from the University of Michigan and his MBA from UCLA’S Anderson school of management. After working with hundreds of students at several of the nation’s premier test prep agencies, he decided to develop his own curriculum, sourcing the best tips and tricks he picked up along the way.

Stone Hall prides itself on creating individualized learning plans for each and every student. Because if one thing has become apparent in contemporary education psychology, it’s that everyone learns differently!

All of our instructors have graduated from top Universities and earned in the 99th percentile on the tests they tutor, but even more importantly they’re fun! We’re hyper aware of how dense the material can be, so we made sure to find teachers that were as engaging as they were capable.
